Default sql is converting int to float on select

I'm using PERL to write a program, and I need to select an ID from a table. The query is selecting the ID column, which is an int, but then the value is #.00. I am trying to insert that ID into another table as the foreign key which has an int datatype. Does anyone know why this is happening?
