Default point my domain to the website i built

I've been learning HTML/CSS, and want to try testing things by putting up a website.I registered a domain name at register.com, and I'm hosting myself using Wamp on my own computer.I just can't seem to figure out how to point the domain name to my server (my computer) Any help would be great.

Since your computer has a dynamicly assigned IP address, this would be difficult. You need to use a service like DynDNS. As you have already found out, domain registration and Web hosting are two different things. getting them to work together can sometimes be a pain. BTW: check with your domain registrar for instructions on domain forwarding.

Using wampserver
The “www” directory will be automatically created (usually c:\wamp\www)
Create a subdirectory in “www” and put your PHP files inside.
Click on the “localhost” link in the WampSever menu or open your internet browser and go to the URL : http://localhost
