Default system restore problem urgent windows vista

WINDOWS VISTA

So I had a a nasty virus for a while that wouldn't even let me get into my desktop. I didn't think to do a system restore right then and there and I found my old computer and decided, hey, let's see if it'll work after 8 months. I did a system restore through command prompt, it seemed that everything was going great, but when I logged in I got THIS message.

"C:\users\owner\appdata\local\temp\wmscaaywvlbwngtspp.bfg" is not recognized operable program or batch file.

HELP PLEASE?? What can I do because someone already said that they'd like to buy it and I told them sure if I could fix it!! Help

/local/temp/... is a temporary folder, usually for downloaded files or other temporary work space. The fact that it fails to run something from there is actually a good thing, that means the file is missing. That probably indicated that is where the virus may have resided. However, you still have some startup command trying to start it. It could be in the program "startup" folder, but more likely in the registry "run" key.

I would still run a full virus scan, and a malware scan. You still have some registry entry trying to run something it should not be running.
Also, you could run CCleaner, and under the "Tools" tab, do a registry scan to clear up missing file entries in the registry. There are other registry "cleaners" out there....
