Default copyrighted material on server.

Hello everybody.
I'm programmer and i wanted to create something like Online storage, but actuall if i created it,i won't have time to check on my server and remove the copyrighted material,so I've been thinking about storing the data on the user's computer instead of my server, but the server is needed to connect the user with his computer,so that he could send his data from any device to his computer via the server.
About the data that will be shared on the server it will be removed immediatly after it reaches to the user's computer.
By this way, there will be no data on my server.
My question is:Am i still responsible for the copyrighted material eventhough,it's been removed(or will be removed after several days)from my server?

You really should consult with an attorney, because any advice given here may or may not be legally sound.

With that said, if it's just temporarily storing a copy of a file while it transfers it from the user's computer to his or her client session, I'm guessing (and want to stress that it's merely a guess) that you'd be okay, provided that you delete the file from your server as soon as the download is complete, or within a few minutes (not days) if the download fails. Also, you shouldn't provide any way for a user account to grant download access of its files to other users (and certainly not to anonymous users or the public), because that would essentially make you a distribution point for someone to distribute potentially illegal material (child pornography et al) or copyrighted works to others, which you obviously want to avoid.

First of all... I'd like to point out that that's not "online storage". You'd basically be acting as an intermediary FTP service.

Second... technically, you shouldn't be liable for any copyrighted material transferred, assuming it's being transferred to a single user and not being shared publicly. TECHNICALLY, you shouldn't be liable for copyrighted material stored on your server, provided it's not being shared publicly, but we all know just how quick some content owners are to file a lawsuit whether or not is has merit.

Your description makes no sense:
"About the data that will be shared on the server it will be removed immediatly after it reaches to the user's computer.

If there were no data on your server, then how could it be "shared on the server"? So, we're just guessing that you're doing some sort of peer-related transfers using an intermediate index of some sort...

What you describe is completely illegal if used for unauthorized transfer of copyrighted materials between users.

Kazaa was shut down as a peer-to-peer service that facilitated sharing, even though it never contained the copyright infringing data being exchanged. Similarly, torrents are illegal for unauthorized transfers.

You have to realize that the copyright law doesn't give anyone the general right to make unlimited copies of things, even for their own personal use.
